THRIVE VISion MInistry

Thrive Vision is dedicated to transforming lives through a holistic approach to missions, focusing on spiritual, emotional, academic, and professional growth. Founded by a passionate missionary who believes that all Christians are called to serve, Thrive Vision engages in diverse outreach efforts, including training pastors, planting churches, and working with various community groups such as police, firefighters, and schools.

In recent years, Thrive Vision has taken a bold step in combating the horrific realities of child trafficking in Costa Rica. Through close collaboration with local authorities, they have developed a specialized 3-step program aimed at rescuing children from trafficking and abuse, providing them with safety and support. Volunteers with Thrive Vision will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on service, from supporting church leaders to participating in the fight against child exploitation, making a profound impact on the lives of those in need.

HOGAR SOL ORPHANAGE

Hogar Sol is a non-profit organization in Costa Rica dedicated to protecting children in vulnerable situations, including those who have suffered abandonment, abuse, or assault. Working closely with the government, Hogar Sol provides a safe, transitional shelter where children stay while their social and legal issues are resolved.

Volunteers at Hogar Sol play a crucial role in meeting the basic physical and emotional needs of these children, helping to create a nurturing environment that supports their recovery and growth. By volunteering, you can make a lasting impact on the lives of these children during their time of need.

SEA TURTLE CONSERVATION

To foster harmony between humans and sea turtles, this organization has established conservation and research projects along Costa Rica’s Caribbean and Southern Pacific coasts. In Cahuita, Moin, and Pacuare beaches, they protect leatherback, green, and hawksbill turtles, while in the Osa Peninsula, they focus on restoring mangrove forests and studying the Eastern Pacific hawksbill.

Their voluntourism initiative trains locals to host volunteers and tourists, creating sustainable income and reducing pressure on turtles and their habitats. Volunteers can engage in reef monitoring, educate local students on conservation, and contribute to research that influences marine policies, directly supporting these crucial conservation efforts.

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL ACADEMY

The HPS baseball and softball academy focuses on developing high-performance players through comprehensive training programs. Visiting teams have the opportunity to train alongside and mentor young Costa Rican athletes, sharing their skills and techniques while enjoying the process.

By collaborating with local players, your team can help elevate their game and foster a love for the sport, all while contributing to the growth of baseball and softball in Costa Rica.

WIDOWS MINISTRY

Located in Los Guido, a marginalized area in San José, Costa Rica, this ministry focuses on supporting women and families in social risk. It provides crucial aid to young and elderly women who have faced neglect or abandonment, as well as support for at-risk youth and children. The area is plagued by severe issues such as drug trafficking, prostitution, and violence, and the ministry aims to transform the community through prayer and the gospel.

Future projects include reopening programs for children and adolescents, expanding the ministry’s facilities to include a second floor, and reviving workshops such as sewing and woodworking. They also plan to resume food assistance efforts. Volunteers have the opportunity to make a significant impact by contributing to these programs and supporting the ministry’s mission to bring hope and change to the community.
